Take a Virtual Hike to Valagil Waterfall in the Westfjords

With most of the world homebound to some extend and international travel mostly on hold due to Coronavirus restrictions, we thought we’d invite you on a short and relaxing “virtual hike”. Consider it traveling without, well, traveling.

In the video above, photographer and adventurer Isley Reust takes us all on a mellow hike through a stunning valley full of gigantic waterfalls in the Westfjords of Iceland.

So sit back, relax, and let your mind wander at the thought of your next adventure.

The true gem of this hike is a beautiful ravine called Valagil at the very end of the valley that is home to a spectacular waterfall that falls over layers upon layers of ancient lava.

The hike itself starts at the fjord of Álftafjörður, close to the town of Súðavík, and is quite easy by Icelandic standards as the valley is quite flat with only a few streams that need to be traversed.
