We often hear from foreign travelers that arriving in Iceland can feel like you’ve just landed on another planet.
As soon as you leave the airport you’re greeted with huge fields of volcanic rock that cover the vast landscape as far as the eye can see. In the summer, these lava fields are covered with bright green moss while in the winter you’ll see snow-capped mountains and volcanoes dominate the horizon.
When filmmaker Alex Cornell arrived in Iceland and was making his way to Reykjavík along the highway, he felt as if there was hardly any signs of life to be seen. It was as if he’d been transported to some unknown planet in outer space. That feeling of venturing into “no-man’s land” was both liberating and exhilarating. So much so that it inspired him to film a video diary of his adventures in Iceland with a futuristic sci-fi theme.
The result was this incredibly unique travel video titled “Planet Iceland- Expedition Memories”.
