Watch As The Northern Lights Dance Over The Fjords Of Iceland

You could say that the Westfjords of Iceland are probably Iceland’s best kept secret.

The Westfjords are relatively difficult to reach compared to other areas of Iceland, but the small, picturesque fishing villages and endless fjords with steep mountains cutting into the cold North Atlantic ocean make it well worth the drive or flight up there.

In September of last year, American photographer and film maker Ric Taylor decided to drive around Iceland in its entirety. So of course, he made the amazing detour up to the Westfjords! Along the way he shot this breathtaking video of the Northern lights (Aurora Borealis).

The three areas featured in the video are Ísafjörður in the Westfjords, Hauganes in the north of Iceland and Seyðisfjörður in the Eastfjords.
