Get yourself a nice cup of your favorite hot beverage, sit back, relax and watch this incredibly soothing video of equestrians taking around 45 Icelandic horses out for a ride on a typical rainy Icelandic summer day. Filmed in North Iceland, the video takes us through beautiful green valleys, over a roaring river, and past quaint little villages.
The video was shot with GoPro cameras mounted on both the rider’s chest and helmet. While the video itself is just over 6 minutes long, the footage was compiled from a riding trek that was three days long. It’s something we call ‘rekstur’ in Iceland, which is when people take their horses on long trips through the countryside and allow them to run relatively free.
The riders rode each horse for about an hour at a time, changing between two or three horses each day.
